Question about OS Boot Menu and Linux

I dual boot between xp and ubuntu, so when I start up the computer, I select which OS I want and press enter. Easy enough. Problem is, every time I update ubuntu, it adds the new build to the OS boot menu without deleting the old ones, so now I have a long list of ubuntu builds on the thing, and have to scroll all the way down it to boot into xp. It's annoying. And, I must be an idiot or something, because I have no idea how to delete the old builds from the boot menu. Help?
